NEW: Over the past few months, hosts at the Daily Wire have called for a massive expansion of state violence to be directed against their enemies: more capital punishment, police raids, prisons, and bans on LGBTQ culture & health services. Me at @mmfa

The crew at @mmfa watched 258 PragerU Kids videos. The content is even worse than you think. The dominant themes are denying climate change, celebrating capitalist exploitation (& demonizing socialism), and distorting the histories of Black & indigenous people in the US. Thread:

Fuck it, I’ll say it: my class interests supersede the fight for universal healthcare
Fuck it, I’ll say it: I prefer Biden to Bernie.

NEW: Florida just approved PragerU Kids’ right-wing propaganda videos for use in public school classrooms. There's copaganda, celebrations of colonialism, and more. Follow along for some lessons DeSantis et al are foisting on students. Me at @mmfa

One of the many reasons to directly antagonize Trump is that contrary to popular imagination he doesn't like confrontations. He is an insecure coward who seeks to please whoever is in front of him.
JUST IN: Trump tells reporters he disagrees with the "Send Her Back" chant. "I was not happy with it - I disagree with it," he said, per pooler @djusatoday.

AOC proposed impeaching justices who lied under oath. The right - led by Murdoch-owned outlets - freaked out. They are terrified of any reduction in SCOTUS' power, signaling how central the Court is to their larger reactionary project. Me, at @mmfa

I wrote about the long, symbiotic relationship between law enforcement and racist vigilante organizations. The degree of overlap, which is virtually unbroken from the end of the Civil War to the present, is astonishing.

The overriding theme of PragerU Kids is that schools have made white children feel uncomfortable by teaching them about forms of oppression, and that that anxiety must be alleviated by alternately burying and sanitizing the past
As this episode shows, the overriding theme of Leo and Layla’s adventures — and PragerU Kids in general — is that schools have made white children feel uncomfortable by teaching them about racism, colonialism, and other forms of oppression, and that that anxiety must be alleviated through a rigorous disavowal that the past plays any role in ordering the present. If historical wrongs committed by white people in the United States or Europeans must be acknowledged, we must teach that those injustices were undertaken with good intentions. Even more importantly, the past must remain firmly in the past, lest Leo and Layla lose their innocence and be forced to confront continuities of domination.
