I tend to avoid getting too personal here but my mum, Jean Reilly, passed away peacefully in her sleep yesterday morning. In recent years she suffered from dementia and my sadness is mixed with relief that she has been released from that horrible disease. Rest in peace mum.

SNP strategy if Supreme Court rules against them on #indyref2 is to declare the next election is solely about independence, which is what they do with every election anyway so its hardly some brilliant new failsafe strategy

I know we're in election territory but I see an increasing number of @theSNP supporters claiming their party introduced free period products, free personal care, free bus passes for over 60s, and scrapped tuition fees, when it's simply not true.

The Tories propped up the SNP minority government of 2007 but @theSNP don't want you to remember that because they prefer mythology rather than history

Can we all just agree now that America elected an idiot? #TrumpPresser

Nicola Sturgeon's "people are more interested in Covid" or "you're off to the Lords so who cares" defense looks more and more desperate every time she uses it at #FMQs

A reminder that the vote to stay in the Customs Union was lost by 3 votes because the SNP abstained SNP clearly worried about the prospect of a Labour government
A hard brexit is defined as the UK being outwith the Single Market & Customs Union. That is Labour's position.

I see @scottishgreens are Tweeting videos about independence in a desperate attempt to distract from their refusal to support @LabourMercedes proposal to freeze rents SGP in opposition promise everything, but in power they deliver nothing

SNP advocate a permanent customs union... right up to the point in which they could actually vote for it. A cynic might think they saw some political advantage in prolonging the chaos.

Voter ID is just a smokescreen for the problem they're actually trying to solve, which is how to stop people voting for parties other than the Tories

Just seeing the hostility towards @ASLEFunion demands for a fair pay rise from @theSNP supporters is a timely reminder of how they put independence over people ever single time
  • user avatar
A bit odd to see @theSNP repeating promises on their official account that are contingent on a by-election result. They're the government of Scotland so either they can do it now, and won't, or they can't do it. Which is it?

@tprwills: "I will take 20% off Northlink cabin costs, make SIC ferries free for foot passengers and secure a long-term extension of the Air Discount Scheme. But that's just the start: I will be pushing for more." #ShetlandByElection

I can honestly say that the #SQAResultsFiasco is the first time that friends and family who are SNP voters and members actually agree with me when I've said an SNP minister should be sacked. This isn't about "playing politics", John Swinney's position is simply untenable.
