Thankful for the innovators that came before us!Franz Weitlaner (1872-1944), was an Italian-born Austrian surgeon who invented an ‘automatischer wundspreizer’ (automatic wound spreader) that can be opened with one hand. He created this as he was the only physician in Ottenthal, Austria, and lacked surgical assistance!
