a really crazy experience for me was when i realized most people can't think of second order effects unconsciously, their reasoning just stops after one cause+effect in their head unless they sit down and force it to continue. when i realized this so much of the world made sense- Sick of people saying that peasants should stop paying tithe to the lord on whose fief they live and work. Many vassals' sole form of income is taxes from their fiefs, and they all have to cover a lot of expenses to cover if they want one of those medieval clowns with the bells
