We’re building biology a pause button. Our challenge is deep across quantum physics, surgery, neuroscience, chemistry, molecular biology, machine learning, electronics, mechanics, and materials. Join us.
We’ve raised $100M+ to date, we are developing reversible cryopreservation for patients in need of donor organs, and we are hiring 🫀🎉🚀

Proud to share what @LauraDeming and I have been working on! Learn more here:
Introducing @cradle_health, co-founded with @huntercoledavis. We're building reversible cryo technologies. Think the hibernation pods you see in space movies for long-term travel - we want to build that. We’ve raised $48M, built a world-class team of scientists and engineers,

Thanks @jasonjoyride! Enjoyed talking science with you.
On February 13th, @cradle_health successfully vitrified neural tissue and confirmed its electrical activity after cryopreservation. This week, they shared their breakthrough and ambition to make reversible human cryopreservation a reality — today, get the world's first inside

I understand the frustration of Caltech grad students who want to continue research, but don’t forget that Newton did his greatest work while hiding in the country from the Bubonic plague. We can advance our scientific missions while social distancing.

Thrilled to see @mikhailshapiro among those selected. Congrats Mikhail!
HHMI News: We are proud to announce our 33 new #HHMIInvestigators. These individuals have the potential to make transformative discoveries over time and we look forward to seeing where their ideas lead them. bit.ly/3AE4OBs

Huge congrats to @Mohamad_Abedi on an exemplary capstone to his PhD! Mo is a brilliant and driven scientist who I’m proud to call a colleague and a friend.

The Hudlicky essay in @angew_chem was ignorant and offensive. Science is for everyone. It should not be solely the domain of white men. I’m horrified by the implication that diversifying our community has degraded scientific integrity.

Congratulations to Dr. @dannypsawyer on defending his PhD in Bioengineering @Caltech on ultrasound methods for imaging acoustic biomolecules! Danny's work to increase the sensitivity & specificity of #gasvesicle imaging is a pillar for all future work in this area. Proud of you!

Short squeezing is illegal for a reason. Destabilizing capital markets isn't just bad for mega-yacht owners. It also affects people's retirement accounts. However, I'm more concerned about the lack of regulation of these shorts than I am about punishing the squeezers. 1/3

I do hope people knock off some of this eat the rich glee. The behavior of these short squeezers is dangerous and interferes with the efficient allocation of capital in an economy that needs all the help it can get. 3/3

Every major scientific organization recognizes climate change, so I don’t believe that framing comes from a left perspective.
