And this one deserves its own post, here we have the maternity nativity 2022. Loving the use of the BBA kit! #nativity #Christmas

We are *SO PLEASED* to be able to reinstate our #homebirth service - as of now! Improved ambulance response times and maternity staffing means we are back up and running. This will remain under close review, but we will carry on as long as it is safe. @CityHackneyMVP

Rachel, our midwife whose bike was stolen while doing postnatal visits, has now received her beautiful new steed from fab local company @SwytchBike. It’s an e-bike so she’ll be whizzing round Hackney faster than @Chris_Boardman. Want to take an extra 10 visits Rach? 😂

A few minutes on the night shift to spare so we’ve done a bit of socially distanced yoga. In these trying times it’s great to have a few minutes to focus on ourselves. Thanks to Bea (midwife/yoga teacher extraordinaire) for leading us with no time to prepare!

CALLING ALL KNITTERS! Our infant feeding team, ably represented here by Veronica, are in need of new knitted breasts (we know how ridiculous this sounds, our job is very weird 😂). These help us to teach parents about breastfeeding and how to express breast milk properly. 1/2

Thank you so much to @Pret for their very generous donation of smoothies and snacks. They’re keeping us going! Much appreciated 👏👏👏 @NHSHomerton @HomertonHope

In view of the rapidly decreasing birth rate in North East London, we shall now be opening up our services to other species. Staff - room 14 will be reserved for our giraffe friends due to size restrictions. Extra PPE will be provided for hedgehog births. For obvious reasons.

Jenni had her bike stolen while attending a home birth this week. This stops our midwives from attending to women in need, as well as leaving the midwife out of pocket. Anyone have ideas/help on how we can stop this from happening? (it’s not the 1st time this year) @NHSHomerton

Thinking of our Homerton colleague Dr Abdul Chowdhury during the #clapforourcarers tonight. Our sincere condolences to his family and friends.

Happy New Year from all of us! We’ve already had our first baby at 0001, who do we call about welcoming the first baby of 2024 in the whole country????

Today we said goodbye to the wonderful Nettie, who has been a Homerton institution for nearly 40 years. We can’t think of anyone more deserving of a quiet retirement in Northumberland but we all know what a huge gap she leaves, and will all miss her and her expertise hugely.

We’ve been jealous of everyone enjoying the sunshine outside so our lovely registrars Victoria and Natasha have cleared @WHSmith out downstairs of their ice creams and we are taking in the sunshine by the window 😍

We are thrilled to launch our first preterm birth antenatal clinic, caring for women who are at high risk of premature birth. These guys look pretty happy about it too 😍
