    I have one feedback on elden ring dlc for fromsoft. They should have made the 50 Scadutree Blessings into "5000 Scadutree Bananas" and placed them in lines and curves perfectly designed around your horse's double jump

    I highly recommend other designers to read Addiction by Design - one conclusion for me was the biggest change in All games over the past decade - solo or gacha hell - is their repackaging of the gambling industry's addiction design as "good game design".

    This book will foster sympathy for anyone struggling with time/$-based gacha addiction - as well as a disdain for the gacha industry and those that promote it. You can draw a line from the development of 90s/00s casinos with rise of mobile games... anyways, it's a great read

    Miyamoto talking about "movie inferiority complexes" is interesting. Their sense of playfulness and trying to push games forward with Mario 64 was interesting, too... kind of miss older Nintendo's design philosophies.

    The level of criticism Genshin Impact (a Chinese game) gets for having similar art or music is deeply disappointing to me, especially from other devs. Why is Genshin a "ripoff", but samey USA AAA games win GOTY and USA indie games are "love letters"?
