I was at the airport on the day you had to start showing ID to get on internal flights. There were two police detectives on the flight to London and they refused their warrant cards as ID because they weren't on the approved list of documents!
They already have the vote in Scotland, just not for Westminster elections. Reason being, you can get married or join the army at 16 so why not vote? Why 18 and not 19 or 17? Its all pretty arbitrary.
The real problem with the media is the perception that interviewers don't push politicians for answers (Robin Day or Brian Walden style) because they need the government to cooperate with filling the 24/7 news schedule.
