In my hometown in Northern British Columbia last year a young girl was found in an empty lot on the edge of the forest with her head crushed. Since it's not a TV show the police ruled it no foul play. I hear murmurs about who really did it and it haunts me
The trees and mountains are stunningly beautiful and I feel blessed every day I get to spend out there but it's not as it seems. Almost all of BC has been logged and the forests now are mostly manmade monocrops of softwood, sprayed with glyphosphate to kill competing species
I used to ride my bike about an hour out of town to buy weed from a guy squatting out in the woods. He lived out there alone with his dogs and a pig, ex biker. There were some times I worried I wouldn't make it back
