I’ve been in touch with Dr Philip Lee today – had a really constructive discussion including how we at @gmcuk can signpost information more clearly – we’ll review how we do that. #IAmPhilipLee #medtwitter

The UKMLA is the final assessment of a UK medical degree. You cannot sit it unless you’re studying a medicine at a university which is on the list of awarding bodies. If a PA wished to become a doctor they would need to complete a medical degree. gmc-uk.org/education/how-…
Hi @gmcuk Care to comment on this? Can you please reassure the medical community that the new UKMLA (or equivalent) will *never* be used to allow PAs to become doctors Should be trivially easy to dispel Source: reddit.com/r/doctorsUK/s/… @drcolinm

I have more understanding of how you feel than you may realise - my own career littered with failures. So please don’t walk away without talking it through. Feel free to DM if you wish.

Why is this still happening?? Cons: “It says here you're an academic trainee?" Trainee: “Yes” C: “Forget a career in medicine then" T: “Sorry?" C: “Well you won't have the capacity to be a proper doctor . . being a woman and an academic wannabe" #Unprofessional

Leave it with us Johnny. We’re already working with @ukmedschools to look at how we support Med schools and #medstudents. Very challenging time for our final year students. @BMAstudents #MedStudentTwitter @gmcuk

Just to clear this up - the @gmcuk do NOT mandate the National Training Survey. However the data supports quality assurance and to take action where concerns identified. High response rates improves reliability of analysis esp where small no of trainees. #MedTwitter #MedEd
Dear @gmcuk Please be aware that trainees are being bullied in your name Dear trainees Do *not* write this reflection. This is toxic, this is harmful and this is wrong #MedEd #medtwitter #NHS

Oh dear. The ward would know you’re on leave so won’t be ringing you. They should be calling HR or the Consultant. Surely? 🤷‍♂️

To all UK #medstudents not in final year. Please get advice from your #medschool about volunteering. Great to do but need to protect your progression through studies too, even though placements likely cancelled. #MedStudentCovid @BecomingaDr

Unhelpful and counterproductive. Weaponising GMC in this way is the wrong approach. ‘Please don’t - they are copyright’ is sufficient (if true) but good learning will always be shared. Personally content to share anything if it helps others. #MedEd

Hi Sandeep. Unfortunately this reply on our Facebook messenger service isn’t correct. We don’t describe PAs as 'studying medicine' and we're sorry for the confusion this has caused. We have information about what's involved in the education and training of PAs on our website
