- Just a tip to all the health trusts out there (including @LeedsHospitals) that thank yous in Xmas bonuses seem to be what an โOutstandingโ trust will doโฆ & definitely go further than resilience training, Zoom yoga or claps. Expensive but it can be done ๐คท๐ปโโ๏ธ#medtwitter
- Ok #Medtwitter. This isnโt complicated. Can we just agree that: 1. People shouldnโt be expected to work for free 2. The work HCAs do isnโt โmenialโ, itโs incredibly valuable and requires skill and training. Shall we agree so we can move on to our next drama?
- You canโt see it behind my PPE but Iโm currently over the moon having accepted a job as #Dermatology Registrar in West Yorkshire! Iโm gonna be a dermatologist! โค๏ธ๐๐ป ๐#ST3 #dermtwitter #MedEd Skin puns please ๐
- This is not a volunteer role. Pay your workers.๐จ NEW: Medical students have been drafted onto wards in the wake of the NHS cyber attack. They will work as floor walkers, hand delivering blood tests to and from the crippled pathology labs. Bosses at @GSTTnhs say disruption will last "at least 2 weeks" 1/2
- Steve Barclay: - Complains about preconditions then sets them himself - Thinks it's ok for MPs to have ยฃ20k rises, but not medics - Prefers to communicate via Tory media than directly to staff/via talks He's trying to abdicate responsibility & is not a leader. #medtwitterThe NHS sees more pressure than usual over Easter and the 4 day junior doctors' strike threatens to cause significant disruption. I urgeย @BMA_JuniorDocs to call off strikes and get back around the table to find a fair offer. Read moreย @Telegraphย ๐ telegraph.co.uk/news/2023/04/0โฆ
- Had a paper accepted today that have been working on for around 3 years, with multiple rejections along the way. Persistence can pay off in academia โบ๏ธGood to take the little wins โญ๏ธ
- Replying to @TheFloodDefenceOnce wore a red and gold scarf in Bishop Auckland and someone in the street shouted โGRYFFINDOR!โ at me
- Bottlenecks ๐๐ป are ๐๐ป a ๐๐ป political ๐๐ป choice ๐๐ป and ๐๐ป a ๐๐ป failure ๐๐ป of ๐๐ป government ๐๐ป and ๐๐ป workforce ๐๐ป planning ๐๐ป #medtwitter๐จ It's crazy that the NHS has told 350 doctors training in anaesthesia that the NHS has no job for them after 3 years training. At the same time we have massive shortages of, you guessed it, anaesthetists. These self-defeating bottlenecks defy logic. Statement from @RCoANews
- Found on @MedReddit: Postgraduate doctors are *not* children. ๐ถ๐ผ It is not acceptable to infantilise doctors for not completing surveys. ๐ซ Punishment reflections are not good learning. โ๏ธ ARCP is not about punishment. โ Can we cut this garbage out? #medtwitter
- Genuinely, whatโs going to happen with medical students? This is *not* the same as March, when students could feasibly transition smoothly to FiY1. This 5th yr cohort has been through an horrific year of disruption & rushing them into F1 now is hardly safe for them or patients.
- Replying to @TelegraphHello again @lizrob92 & @Daniel_J_Martin. Do you plan to do a similar story about the Health Secretary currently being on holiday amid doctors' attempts to negotiate with ministers? Or is there a special deal for Telegraph columnists?
