The decoupling of critic and audience scores for standup specials is a thing to behold

When Elon Musk seemed like he wanted to buy Twitter many were panicked, as if him owning it would bring us a step closer to fascism, but now Twitter is trying to force Musk to buy them, and I haven't run across anyone getting upset at Twitter.

Late stage communism is so absurdly comical at times. This entire communist country has fewer amenities than one capitalist cruise ship!

I'd like @twitter to restore the @nypost account and to refrain from censoring the published articles of newspapers and magazines in the future. Journalism isn't perfect, but the truth is best reached via robust criticism of what is published, not suppression and deplatforming.

If you believe it is humorous to frighten people and destroy their property because you disagree with them you might be the sort of authoritarian who doesn't realize it.

Donald Trump's ability to inspire others to destroy their reputations on his behalf is perhaps the most inexplicable thing about his presidency. Even in defeat, people show him self-discrediting loyalty he'd never show them. Why?

One quality I wouldn't personally want in a lawyer is *shaken and unable to focus after witnessing the state deploy force*
NEW: The student editors of the Columbia Law Review have issued a statement urging the law school to cancel exams in the wake of the police operation that cleared the university's encampment, saying the "violence" has left them "irrevocably shaken" and "unable to focus."🧵

Something I first realized in 1991 and thought about while watching post-9/11 invasions and drone strikes, but that I take for granted too often: it is an unearned blessing to live and sleep far from any war zone. May those of us so blessed be good to refugees.

A lot of people know deep down that the Trump Admin is behaving shamefully with regard to Ukraine, but don't want to admit, even to themselves, that America is being dishonorable, so they fixate on matters of no consequence, like Zelensky's manners, to distract their consciences

You were alive when Trump said Obama was a foreign usurper who faked his birth certificate & local Repubs circulated racist monkey cartoons
.@brithume: We're in the most poisonous atmosphere towards a President in my life time. I have not seen anything like this #Tucker @FoxNews

I think Howard Stern actually broke this news when he asked Donald Trump, “Can I call your daughter Ivanka a piece of ass,” and *Trump said yes.*
BREAKING NEWS: President Trump has declared he is NOT a feminist. He tells me: ‘No, I wouldn't say I'm a feminist. I mean, I think that would be, maybe, going too far. I'm for women, I'm for men, I’m for everyone.' Full interview, Sunday, ITV, 10pm.

A child who believed West Germany and South Korea were better societies than East Germany and North Korea, and that those juxtapositions illustrated the superiority of regulated capitalism over communism, would be correct. (A child's understanding of history is often more correct
This is a child’s understanding of history
