Proud (if bizarre) to have been able to vote for myself this morning in Sands!

- A statement from me as Labour Students Trans Officer on the Shadow Health Secretary's remarks today. The trans community deserves better from Labour.
- I’m just so so tired and angry. This is past the point of a sick joke: Labour needs an independent process for dealing with cases of transphobia so our members can (for once) feel safe. My heart breaks for all my trans friends back in Canterbury, I love you 💔Rosie Duffield, the Labour MP for Canterbury, says she has been "completely exonerated" of allegations of antisemitism and transphobia. - Labour Students stands in complete solidarity with the trans community, and it always will 🏳️⚧️✊ We need action on transphobia in @UKLabour and demedicalised self-ID introduced in the first term of a Labour Government. Anything else is a betrayal of the LGBTQ+ community.
- Given the horrific abuse some of our young members have faced, I and other members of the National Labour Students Committee want to share a message of solidarity with our trans members and allies. Solidarity to all of you who have stood up for equality and human rights 🏳️⚧️✊
- It's vital that we get as many signatures on this as possible, please share far and wide 🏳️⚧️
- So @wesstreeting, how many trans people did you consult on this policy of medical segregation? This is an absolutely disgraceful comment, pandering to a minority of bigots - be in no doubt that trans Labour members will not stand for it. Trans rights are human rights, always 🏳️⚧️"We've got to put patient safety first" says shadow health secretary @wesstreeting as he speaks about single sex wards. #PoliticsHub trib.al/ftpea6d 📺 Sky 501, Virgin 602, Freeview 233 and YouTube
00:00 - It’s disgraceful that Laura Pascal has been reinstated as a Labour candidate. If she’d talked about any other minority group in the way she has about the trans community, she would be expelled. Trans Labour members will continue to fight for our right to exist, and to thrive. This entire incident has been shocking. @HackneyLabour surely knew about Pascal's views given how open she is about them yet chose to continue with her as a candidate and the statement released is clearly at odds with how she wants to present herself and her politics.
- Solidarity with everyone who’s come out on behalf of the trans community today and got transphobe-abuse because of it. They’re driven by hate. We will always be on the side of love and acceptance 🏳️⚧️❤️
- The struggle for trans rights isn’t something you dip in and out of when it suits you. It’s something that’s bloody painful and bloody hard. I cannot tell you how enraged I am when people aren’t there when you need it, but only when it looks good for them.
- After this disgusting incident, will @UKLabour continue to allow GB News to have an exhibition stall at Conference in a couple of weeks time? We cannot allow groups like this to propagate their filth at our Party Conference.
01:14Laurence Fox just did a whole speech on GB News on why men apparently won’t shag me ? - Canterbury did, does and will deserve better 🏳️⚧️🔺EXCLUSIVE: Rosie Duffield (@RosieDuffield1) has resigned as a Labour MP, blaming Sir Keir Starmer’s “cruel and unnecessary” policies and the freebies row that is engulfing him and his party
- I’m thrilled to announce that I’m standing for Chair of Young Labour 🌹
