- We are horrified and so, so tired. An update will come from us in the next couple of days on how our movement will respond to this. Please stay safe and keep fighting.
- We’re appalled that Wes Streeting will continue the puberty blockers ban imposed by the Tories this year. This move is not in the best interests of trans young people. Here’s some of the concrete organising we’re doing in the coming weeks to build a movement against this🧵
- We’re completely appalled to see recently readmitted Labour member @MikeGapes liking a tweet that claims that trans people were not key targets of the Holocaust. This is absolutely disgusting and we cannot stand by. Please complain to the Party below. labour.org.uk/complaints/
- You cannot beat far-right politics by pandering to it. We made a manifesto commitment and will not allow any notion of breaking it 🏳️⚧️🚨 NEW: Labour has shelved its manifesto pledge to make it easier for people to legally change their gender in a bid to counter Reform UK's surge in the polls [@thetimes]
- Shame. Anger. Disgust. Even as Labour MPs line up to voice their opposition for this despicable and cruel attack on trans children the party endorses transphobic policy. We deserve so much better from Labour than bigoted leadership and absent allies unwilling to speak up.
- The Cass Review disregards years of evidence, proposing implementations that would have potentially disastrous consequences for both trans youth and adults. No way should a report with uncited claims and limited research scope be accepted so nonchalantly and uncritically. The Cass Review must be a watershed moment for the NHS’s gender identity services. My response for @UKLabour underlining our support for the Cass Review’s evidence-led recommendations and our determination to put children’s health and wellbeing above the political fray 👇🏻
- This is an absolute disgrace. Stomach-churningly disgusting. How on earth can Labour think this is anything but an extinction-level event for trust with the LGBTQ+ community?Wes Streeting apologises to Labour MP who felt ostracised due to gender views theguardian.com/society/2023/j…
- To be clear, reactionaries have tried to divide the LGBT+ community before - it didn’t work then and it won’t work now 🏳️⚧️🏳️🌈A new campaign group for gay and bisexual rights but not transgender rights has been formed in the Labour Party labourlist.org/2025/02/labour…
- If you are a Labour Party member or part of a trade union, it’s crucial that you add your voice to this open letter calling on Streeting to reverse the puberty blockers ban. We’re so close to 10,000 signatures already👇
- This is a massive step to a more trans-inclusive Labour Party. There is so much more to do, but tonight is going to be a good one 🏳️⚧️❤️✊🔺EXCLUSIVE: Rosie Duffield (@RosieDuffield1) has resigned as a Labour MP, blaming Sir Keir Starmer’s “cruel and unnecessary” policies and the freebies row that is engulfing him and his party
- A statement from Labour for Trans Rights and other trans stakeholders in the Labour Party on today’s announcement by Wes Streeting.
- The government has announced that it won't review current restrictions on puberty blockers until 2027. I am gravely concerned about the impact this could have on the mental health of some young trans people. My question to the Health Secretary today:
00:00 - Today, we went to the Department of Health and Social Care to hand in our petition against the puberty blockers ban. Over 17,500 of you signed. @wesstreeting, listen to the Labour movement. Scrap the ban 🏳️⚧️
