99% of fancy public photos showing "quantum computers" (what 99% of celebrity stare at) are actually Bluefors dilution refrigerators...

arxiv.org/abs/1910.09930 our new preprint "Boson sampling with 20 input photons in 60-mode interferometers at 10^14 state spaces" in the real “sampling” regime where it becomes impossible to exhaust all possible output combinations. See our set-up photo.

I submitted our BEST manuscript to arXiv yesterday. It was REJECTED by arXiv with a speechless reason. Is there any other preprint server except arXiv?

The most promising near-term application of quantum computers is testing quantum mechanics itself and studying many-body systems. an example arxiv.org/abs/2103.08123 #eliminateQuantumhype

OMG, what else can they not link with quantum computing? @DulwichQuantum

About Scott's amusing story. We (USTC) actually don't have to pay that money. Our collaborator in Wuxi pays that. Actually, since it is wintertime, so they recycle the cooling water for the supercomputer to heat up the residents' houses nearby.
