A couple years, I started writing Twitter threads.
I am now approaching 200 threads but X is not great at displaying these.
I'm therefore making a "thread of threads" index to make it easier to jump to more recent threads.
Enjoy!
Not autistic and I do this.
Helps you understand where your money goes.
Eg those sub $100 transactions don’t seem like that much until you realize that’s where $5K goes every year
When you find a car that is doing your preferred:
- speed
- distance keeping to car in front
- lane changing
It feels much like finding a great mutual in Twitter
- be me
- born with no sense of smell
- staying at my moms house while she’s away
- she comes home
- she smells gas
- calls gas company over
- they ring doorbell
- mom opens the front door
- they sniff the air
- “EVERYONE OUT OF THE HOUSE, RIGHT NOW!”
GitHub has a talk from 2013 where the Ops guy says:
"We don't have dashboards. If something goes wrong, the alerting system generates a chart showing the error, screenshots it and then drops it in the ops channel"
I think about this quote every time I see a dashboard.
And if you ask your grandparents it would be considered stalking today.
Eg “your grandpa would hang out by the school exit.
He asked me out everyday for 2 weeks till I finally said ‘yes’ and now we’ve been married 54 years”
EMTs are taught to “blow out the candle” which literally means:
- stop
- take a breath in
- blow it out as if blowing out a candle
Forced to you stop, breathe and then think.
“One day, your kids will buy a sheet of sticker cameras.
They can put them anywhere and each will have its own IPv6 address. If you connect to that address from a browser, you’ll get a video feed.”
