This is a story from personal experience about the need for single-sex exemptions under law for certain spaces, and why Self-ID trans ideology can be problematic. It’s about ‘Colin’, a 16 year old boy, my 15yo daughter J, and the girls’ changing room at their school. THREAD. 1/18

This is an outrageous lie - we were NOT outside Charley Hasted’s home, we were outside HUSTINGS at a church. Hustings that we went inside & listened to as is our right as we are local voters. No one running the Hustings or anyone else there had a problem with us or the leaflets.

Teenage boys, this is how to be supportive of your female friends 👇Short 🧵: This afternoon my 17 yo daughter E was hanging out at 6th form with her 3 male friends: A, F & D. She bent down to change the music & whilst she did so, D took a photo of her bottom (in trousers). 1/

Also, note that Charley doesn’t correct India. Charley did write in her original tweet that Herne Hill is her home (as it a lot of people’s), but that does not mean obviously that we were literally at her home. Unless Charley lives in the Church where the hustings took place.

PS: I should add if relevant - which I think it is - that A & F are both straight. Which makes this support even better to hear in my mind: hetero boys properly calling out others for their sexist shit. /actual end

This btw is the offending leaflet we were handing out last night. It’s a cross-party initiative, and supported by members of all the main political parties. #RespectMySex @WomensRightsNet @SexMattersOrg @WomenUnitingUK

Went to pub which turned out to only have unisex toilets. Went into what was formerly the ladies, to walk in on a man in a cubicle urinating with the cubicle door wide open.

How heartening & touching that A & F handled this so well ♥️ Discreetly, so E wasn’t embarrassed, but swiftly stopping it and making it clear it wasn’t OK, and being. the ones to say first that principal should be told. /end

I might well regret writing this & wouldn’t if I wasn’t anon (although some of my mutuals know me IRL) but my autistic child attempted suicide at university a few days ago, flatmates called paramedics & after few days of hospital treatment they were discharged but … I am not OK.

I’m telling this to show, contrary to what many say, the single-sex exemptions are necessary to protect the privacy of girls let alone women. The ‘click & collect trans kit’ as advertised on SM can be harmful for young vulnerable minds seeking easy answer to Q “who am I”. 18/18

After they had a nice time at dinner, A & F told E what had happened and suggested they go with her to the head of sixth form tomorrow to report the incident. So that’s what they’re doing. A & F said they’re no longer going going to be friends with D because of this. 3/

As I’ve tweeted elsewhere, I’ve received treatment for ovarian cancer at The Whittington, Maya. The tweet is disgustingly unprofessional. I don’t want to see staff re my ovary-based medical needs who don’t want to treat me because I believe that only females can have ovaries.

Daughter (E) didn’t see D take photo but A & F did and quietly told D off. D just laughed. So, without E hearing, they told him to leave; they were all supposed to go out to dinner together. E thought D was leaving of his own accord. 2/
