I have launched a brand new newsletter. It has exactly the same name as my old newsletter. It looks in-depth at Welsh politics and Welsh issues. The only difference is, now I own it. Subscribing to this newsletter directly supports my journalism. shorturl.at/CA938

So for years I have had pretty bad skin problems. For seemingly no reason my face would start burning & within hours would result in horrible read blotches appearing on my cheeks and nose. After years, I have finally worked out why. Come with me on a flakey adventure. Thread:

There are no longer any Tory MPs in Wales. They had 11 in 2019. Now a total Conservative wipeout.

So I have been having a little look at the people who run some of the Welsh anti-20mph Facebook groups. It seems that many of them a run by Tory politicians.... who live in England....and support 20mph where they live.... Let's go on a journey (at a very safe speed). [Thread]

The reason for writing this piece is because, though I have it easier than many people with chronic skin problems, having a visible skin condition affects you far beyond the physical discomfort.

Luckily I have a really supportive employer and they removed the product. I am now sat in the office writing this article and for the first time in years I am at my desk and my skin doesn't hurt!

These are messages allegedly sent by Conservative MS Laura Anne Jones to her staff. They appear to show her telling staff to add extra journeys she didn't make onto her expense claims. It is currently been investigated by the police and the standard's commissioner.

Yesterday I interviewed Chancellor of the Exchequer Nadhim Zahawi. I challenged him over the decision to class HS2 as an England & Wales project, despite the fact none of HS2 is in Wales. They ended the interview after I pressed him on it. Let's look at what he said: Thread

It erodes your confidence, it is the first part of you the world sees and it take a far more self assured person than me to stop that getting to you. Hopefully this provides some insight to those without such a problem, and reasons to hope for those who do.

Tory leadership hopeful...๐Ÿซ  In just 3 months the 20mph change saw: Total number of casualties down 26%. Number killed/seriously injured fall 23% . Those killed fall 55% . Slight injuries down 27%. Other benefits appear to include delays in meeting James Cleverly.

Someone just tried to genuinely make the point that the 20mph limit was unfair on people hoping for an organ donation because fewer fatal accidents would mean fewer organ donors.

Two big bits of 20mph data. Since the change in speeds: - 20% drop in vehicle damage claims according to insurance company - Casualties on roads drops to lowest level outside pandemic Almost like it was a good idea underpinned by strong evidence...
