- This is just egotistical. Every other year we see cis women here. If a black woman gets "woman of the year" just one year, does that mean they're telling non-black women that black women are better than them? This thinking only works when you have hatred for a groupI grew up in an era when mainstream womenβs magazines told girls they needed to be thinner and prettier. Now mainstream womenβs magazines tell girls that men are better women than they are.
