Two years ago today, I was awarded my doctorate after successfully completing my viva. Nearly four years of research, writing, and perseverance led to that moment. Looking back, I'm incredibly proud of the journey and all that it took to get there. ⬇️

I officially achieved my degree in June of this year, but I decided to make the trip over from 🇺🇸 to 🇬🇧 to participate in graduation—family, friends, funny hats, smiles, and beautiful scenery. It was a wonderful day to walk across the stage and become Dr. Yearby!

We’re asking the wrong question in movement skill education. What most are asking, “How can I get them to do exactly what I want them to?” What we should be asking, “How can I help design an environment, so they can find their own unique way?

I'm excited to announce that I have submitted my doctoral thesis for examination. I look forward to defending it in the upcoming weeks. Thank you to everyone who helped me get to this point. Today was a good day. 🙏🏼

I’m often asked how I get through so many papers and books. I commit to a minimum of 20 minutes per day (usually more 🤓). Today’s reading is a great one and one that I often revisit. Here’s to learning!!

Constraints are ever-changing, and it won't be long until this sweet girl has to adapt her movement solution if she hopes to keep doing this!
