#Frontline Transport Workers must be protected. When employers don't meet their obligation to protect us, workers must fightback to defend our health and safety. When workers fightback we win!! #CoronavirusPandemic #PPENow #Covid19 @ATUComm
Transport workers are the circulatory system that delivers essential workers to the #frontlines of the war against #Covid19. We embrace our duty, but government has a reciprocal obligation to protect us with #PPE and all sensible measures to reduce our exposure #PPENow

The TWU sued the @NYPDnews in 2011 during Occupy Wall St over efforts to force our Bus Ops to transport arrested protesters. The TWU refused then and is rightfully refusing now. #BlackLivesMatter #GeorgeFloyd

The position of @transportworker & the position of @TWULocal100 since Occupy Wall Street is we don’t transport arrestees. Aside from the politics in play, it’s dangerous for our members. We transport America’s working people, not protestors exercising “constitutional rights.”
If pharmacists don't have to fill birth control prescriptions, than TWU members don't have to drive protest jail buses nydn.us/nafyIq

.@NYGovCuomo alleging anyone but himself is an extortionist is laughable. Just ask NYS County Executives about the convos tying vaccine distribution to pledges of political support for Cuomo, amid the twin Nursing Home and Sexual Misconduct debacles .@NYSAFLCIO .@CentralLaborNYC
My response: "Sameulson is an extortionist who is trying to undo pension reform. We also understand he is a political supporter of Tish James and she says she may run against the governor, and he wants more benefits in his contract. Everyone gets that"

There is a technological revolution coming across all transport sectors ,with a huge potential negative impact on public transit workers and service delivery. @AndrewYang speaks powerfully in defense of workers, and understands that people come before profits.

The Transport Workers Union stands with #Teamsters General President Sean O’Brien and UPS workers across America, including my neighborhood delivery man Dominic in Gerritsen Beach, Brooklyn, who busts his ass everyday and deserves a just contract. @TeamsterSOB @transportworker
In case you missed yesterday's press event on #Teamsters negotiations for a new and historic UPS National Master Agreement, watch below. The aggressive public announcement was convened to deliver a strong message to UPS and elected officials about our historic contract fight. #1u

The 100+ Transport Workers Union Aircraft Dispatchers at UPS are prepared to stand in full solidarity supporting @TeamsterSOB and @Teamsters . UPS planes cannot fly without a dispatch release and @transportworker Dispatchers won’t be crossing a #Teamsters picket line 👊.
UPS TEAMSTER PRACTICE PICKETS REMAIN RELENTLESS ✊ With just two weeks left before a possible national #strike at UPS, rank-and-file #Teamsters continue to master their picket line readiness. #1u #strikeready #hotlaborsummer

Congress enjoys paid sick leave, yet they see fit to deny that very benefit to freight rail workers. Workers cannot rely on political parties, it is literally always us against everyone else, and today's action by the Senate proves it. @transportworker

Incredible ⁦@NYDailyNews⁩ Front Page today. Many say it’s the best ever. It’s absolutely well deserved. @MTA⁩ CEO Janno Lieber’s SCREWING over ⁦@transportworker⁩ commuter rail workers & repeatedly lying to @GovKathyHochul⁩ about it, was bound to make headlines:

NYers need Tish to run! @TishJames would restore competency and real working class politics to the job. @GovKathyHochul has pissed off every corner of the Democrat’s base, from LIC-Williamsburg’s kale chip crowd, to the trade unions. Tish beats Hochul if she wants it. Easily.
Tish James struggled to raise money in 2022 when she tried to run against Hochul but you have to imagine she's beginning to think seriously about 2026. She got a boost from the Trump civil trial, has been scandal-free, and is plainly ambitious.

It’s imperative for @GovKathyHochul to quickly oust Larry Schwartz . On every level his presence is detrimental to @MTA, his appointment wasn’t about the public good, it was always only about advancing a sordid political agenda. He’s begrimed the MTA immeasurably, He’s Gotta Go.
Gov. Kathy Hochul vowed Thursday to rid the MTA of political interference, hinting that Andrew Cuomo's lieutenant Larry Schwartz will soon be ousted from the transit agency’s board. ($) subscriber.politicopro.com/article/2021/0…

Profiteering is a death scourge in passenger transport. It always results in diminishment of safety & service quality in pursuit of 💰. @RMTunion's fightback is inspiring and we're honored that Mick Lynch wears @TWULocal100’s logo hat as he fights for all of us. @transportworker
Rail companies are failing while making profit, says @RMTunion’s Mick Lynch. “Everybody is making profit and doing well out of the railway apart from railway workers and railway passengers. “It’s perverse.”

The principle which must guide society's implementation of new technology is to ensure a just transition for transport workers. Absent direct safeguards to protect workers, innovation could easily run amok and kill these solid blue collar jobs. @TTDAFLCIO @SenSherrodBrown
New transportation technology should meet 4 key principles: 1) Transparent planning and reporting 2) The technology should be safe and secure 3) Workers should be involved in planning 4) We need strong privacy and cybersecurity standards @TwuSamuelsen @TTDAFLCIO @SenateBanking

When cops commit blatant crimes, every “good” cop is far better served by their union calling it out and condemning the criminality, rather than trying to justify it. Trust of the police in working America would grow, and right now there is zero trust in many communities
