    Thirty-two years ago I was a finalist in the Mayor For A Day essay contest. Tomorrow I’ll be sworn in as my hometown’s 37th Mayor. San Diego is an incredible place. My goal is to open the doors of opportunity wider for more of our city’s residents. #ForAllofUs

    I met @JustinTrudeau in February. I said #ThanksCanada for being California’s 2nd largest trading partner, directly supporting over 1.1 million CA jobs. He was gracious and well spoken. I wish a Canadian legislator was able to say the same after meeting our head of state.

    My parents were vaccinated at Tailgate Park today. They got a 7am appointment via the website and they’re already home. My mom said everyone was so nice. My dad was hesitant to get it but now says he’s relieved. Thank you @UCSDHealth @SanDiegoCounty @Padres & @CityofSanDiego!

    I’m asking Governor @GavinNewsom to reconsider closing outdoor playgrounds. I believe there is a way for us to protect public health as well as the physical and mental health of our children by keeping playgrounds open. I stand ready to work with our Governor to do that.
