We published a book on "Blockchain for Medical Research" in 2020 to bridge the divide between crypto and biomed. Working on the 2nd Edition with a whole lot more DeSci to AI being added. If you know a project that might be worth looking at - post it in the comments.

CS is optimizing to the known. Neuro and other biomed is extracting from the unknown. Thinking this "predictive" result matters is why we just wasted 20 years in the wrong direction for Alzheimer's research.

Hey DeSci - there's about $250B in biomedical research funding in the U.S. each year. And it is largely decentralized. Here is a breakdown (from Research! America) of where that comes from. Industry 66% Fed Govt 25% Academia 7% Foundations 1% State Govts 1%

Lived in Bmore when they were filming this and got to see Sonja Sohn in the bars sometimes. A few friends of mine got to be extras. Could watch it anytime. But the strip club they used is in Fell's Point, not West Side.

Saw him speak in NY a few years back. He was talking about one of his books, paused and said, "oh yeah, I forgot this is NY and y'all think I can't even read". Everyone laughed even though 75% straight up did think that. All the world's a stage.
