At 18, a week before college began, I was hit by a car and left for dead. Insurance refused to cover as the ambulance took my unconscious body to a "non-preferred provider". I was bankrupt, had to drop out of school as the accident resulted in my loss of an athletic scholarship.

Today, the federal minimum wage is $7.25, and the average year of college is $23k a year at public colleges plus another $18,500 for living expenses. So, in order to pay for one year of college, you must work at minimum wage full-time for nearly three years. We fuct up. Fin/
