    No party won a majority of seats (29 or more) to take control of the Council following the 2026 Swindon Borough Council elections. The Conservative Party saw 23 councillors elected, with Labour securing 19 seats, Reform UK 14 and the Liberal Democrats 1.

    DEAL AGREED: we’re pleased to report the sale of the County Ground to a joint venture of @Official_STFC and @TrustSTFC now has final approval from the Council. The next step will be for the parties to finalise the legal documentation to complete the sale

    The transfer of the County Ground from the Council to a joint venture of @Official_STFC and @TrustSTFC has taken a big step forward. The Council’s Cabinet has just approved the sale at tonight’s meeting. The decision now has to be signed off by the Scrutiny Committee on Monday.

    This morning, @Official_STFC and Swindon Town Supporters joined forces in a 50-50 partnership to purchase the County Ground from the Council. As part of a 250-year lease, the football club will then be able to redevelop the stadium and modernise its facilities. @TrustSTFC
