In the end, going “all in” on Vitor Pereira was a gamble that backfired for Jeff Shi. Since he did, there’s been a chaotic summer window, a new deal, no league wins and a sacking that felt inevitable. A piece on his spectacular downfall. #WWFC

Former United defender Rio Ferdinand on BT Sport on Albion's non-penalty: "It's a disgraceful decision. He got it right first time. It's a nailed-on penalty. How can he go against his own decision on that?" #WBA

Branislav Ivanovic is having a medical at Albion today. Slaven Bilic confirmed in his pre-match press conference the deal could be done today. Unlikely to play for a couple of weeks, though. Needs some training. #WBA @TheAthleticUK

Realise I'm very late to the party on this one but been laid low with a sickness bug since Friday. As per @FabrizioRomano, Wolves are keen on adding Atletico Madrid pair Felipe (centre back) and Matheus Cunha (striker) in January. Talks at an early stage but serious. #WWFC

Finally seen a replay of Saliba on Guedes. Clear penalty. No idea how VAR hasn’t given that. #WWFC

Final thought for the night. Not a fan of VAR. Never have been and I'd happily see it removed tomorrow for the sake of spontaneity and drama. But tonight wasn't a VAR issue for Albion. They were victims of inexplicable human error. The system worked OK, the officials didn't. #WBA

We can debate whether that goal should be ruled out or not. What is not in question is that it is almost identical to the Wolves goal that was ruled out by VAR against West Ham last season. #WWFC

Slaven Bilic sacked by West Bromwich Albion. Sam Allardyce in advanced talks to take over and expected to be in charge on Sunday against Villa. #WBA

I give up with VAR. Hause jumps into a challenge on Diangana, over the ball and feet off the ground. VAR Darren England doesn't even ask Martin Atkinson to go to the screen. Is that not at least as bad as Livermore's? #WBA #AVFC

I read these every day and they’re always harrowing but sometimes one hits you in the guts and makes you read and re-read to make sure you’ve understood. Less than one year old.
