With upgraded scouting/video programs I was able to track nearly 329 groundballs from last spring. The first hop occurred in zones 1 and 2 NEARLY 70% of the time. More surprisingly, over 50% of those occurred in zone 1. That’s ONLY 6 feet from the front of the batters box.

TINY THREAD: So often players are told, “throw on the run” but are never shown how. We started looking at film of elite players to show what we are working towards. In this case we are working on “2 step” pattern. 1.Field w/ RF down 2.Transfer w/ LF down 3.Throw w/ RF down

We work back to create space for hops and we work from the side to read them ☑️1/2 clip (long): S Bates works back x2 before working forward ☑️3/4 clip (short): S Bates uses a drop step Image on right: Visual aid when we work from the side of the ball @LLefty18 @INFchatter

In softball, post catch footwork patterns are often overlooked. Let’s recognize the different types and the why behind each. ➡️ 0, 2, 3, & 4 step patterns are all dictated by the speed of the runner @INFchatter @LLefty18 @CoachSheets3 @ThatGuy__Kai

When your playing career is over, you won’t be remembered for stats or broken records. Rather you’ll be remembered for the impact you had on others. Whether it was negative or positive, people NEVER forget how you made them feel. Be a great teammate.
