- South Carolina QB commit @ryan_hilinski has reaffirmed his verbal commitment after an offer this month from the Cardinal. Stanford was his dream school since 6th grade but he decided to stick with his longtime pledge to South Carolina. Many Cardinal fans will still cheer him on.
- This will be remembered as one of the most painful losses in the series. First loss to Cal since 2009. First season without a bowl since 2008. Cal fans have rushed the field and there are a lot of them.
- Anna Wilson's appeal for a fifth year was granted.
- Stanford: 152 national titles. Florida State: 20 national titles. Stanford endowment: $36.5B. Florida State endowment: $752.8M. Yeah, Florida State and Stanford are nowhere on the same level. #ACC
- Much will be written about why Andrew Luck is retiring. What should be a given is that Luck is not a quitter. He handled the damage done to his body with humble determination to play on. He also was a lead architect of the improbable rise of Stanford to become an elite program.
- Stanford fans are rightly praising the selflessness of Ryan Burns, who is helping the Cardinal in practices because walk-on Jack Richardson is the only healthy QB. Burns lost the starting job in '16 but came back as a 5th year to add depth. He could be taking it easy this spring.
- Wilson for national defensive player of year. Start the marketing campaign.
