- Elden Ring DLC Lore Spoilers Elden Ring shouldn't have translated this location to "Shaman Village" as I don't think an English audience understands the explicitly female connotations of the name and its significance to Marika's overarching story.

When it is just translated to "Shaman", we end up invoking the west's nebulous conceptions of what a Shaman is, which in western fantasy is typically male.
