This is simply not true! I was at the stadium when the whole thing broke out. It started with the fans of the team from Deir Ezzor chanting anti-Kurdish and pro-Saddam slogans. The Kurds responded with some chants, of course. But “long live Bush” was not among them.
Also, the 2004 Kurdish "intifada" in Syria began at a soccer game when Kurds began chanting "long live Bush" & Arabs responded with chants of "Long live Saddam." Then a mêlée broke out.
