    I’m almost certain you could make a low-budget, straight-to-Channel 5 Christmas movie out of tonight. You know the drill, a fancy big city media star gets stranded in North Shropshire just a week before Christmas. Her camera truck probably gets stuck in a field.

    To show our appreciation for our brilliant NHS workers, our highways team and our contractors are this week painting a special THANK YOU NHS 💙 message on the approach to each of our hospitals. Last night we painted roads near the hospitals in Gobowen and Whitchurch.

    A handsome young farmer from Wem helps free her and she’s intrigued by his charms…until his tractor accidentally sprays her with mud. Sadly the truck needs a new wheel or something and she will have to spend Christmas in the county.

    The result of today's Bridgnorth West and Tasley by-election is: 🔴 CONNOLLY, Rachel (Lab) – 887 votes 🔵 HOLLAND, Jonathan (Cons) – 480 votes 🟢 NASH, Clare (Green) – 45 votes 🟡 STILWELL, Richard (Lib Dems) – 176 votes Turnout: 28.9% 🔴 Therefore, Rachel Connolly is elected.

    A plea from our friends @hedgehogsociety. Before you put your garden waste out please check for hedgehogs. It’s the height of their breeding season so mothers with babies, as well as individual hedgehogs, could easily be gathered up with the waste. Thank you.
