Ok, Upper Manhattan, you asked for it. You tweeted at me, called my office, pulled me aside on the streets, and sent me some of the most disgusting pictures I’ve ever seen. So we’re going to do it. We’re going to start containerizing our trash. 1/

Mailboxes are being removed from West Harlem. We need an emergency intervention to prevent the gutting of these essential services our neighbors rely on. Our fundamental right to vote is also on the line. The Post Master General must resign. #SaveUSPS #SaveThePostOffice

Just a couple of guys looking to build housing and get trash off our sidewalks! I’m endorsing @ZohranKMamdani because he’s committed to listening to our concerns and building a livable, affordable city. Together, we’re building a government that works for the people.

Idk if I was startled more by the earthquake or the 39 min late emergency alert that just came in

This November, NYC has the chance to send a new fighter to Congress: Democratic nominee @danielsgoldman! I’m proud to endorse the man who prosecuted the case against Donald Trump. We need more leaders like him, unafraid to stand up for our democracy.

Currently, @Columbia is threatening to fire students who are protesting unfair labor practices. We won’t let them get away with it. Here’s my letter to President Bollinger:

Student worker update: @SW_Columbia is close to signing a fair contract with Columbia. However, @Columbia is now pushing to weaken the union by artificially limiting membership. This is union-busting—creating a class of unprotected workers to erode the size of the union.

Big news, Uptown Manhattan: @NYCSanitation’s trash containerization pilot program is here! This is a major step towards advancing equity in sanitation while keeping our streets and schools clean + rat-free. We are leaving mountains of garbage bags in the dustbin of history.

Flaco deserved a city that doesn’t poison its own wildlife. Today, I was honored to stand with @LightsOutNYS as I introduced legislation that would pilot a humane alternative to rodenticides: rat contraceptives. It’s more effective and far safer for birds of prey.

Trash is now *100%* containerized in West Harlem and Morningside Heights! Our sidewalks are cleaner, rat sightings are down 60%, and nobody is dodging bags of leaky garbage on their way to school or work. We can absolutely do this everywhere.

The bins have landed in Upper Manhattan! One small step for Morningside Heights, one giant leap for New York City.

BREAKING NEWS: @SW_Columbia has WON! From the beginning, I have called on @Columbia to honor these workers with a fair contract. I will always stand by unions in their efforts to negotiate fair wages. The weeks of pressure, advocacy, and striking worked When we FIGHT we WIN!
Currently, @Columbia is threatening to fire students who are protesting unfair labor practices. We won’t let them get away with it. Here’s my letter to President Bollinger:

We need more advocates like @RitchieTorres in Congress.
BDS is not merely a “protest.” It takes the sinister position that Israel should no longer exist as a Jewish state. It’s an eliminationist movement at its core, one that should itself be protested by any public official professing a concern for peace.
