- The response to my thread yesterday featuring Oakland A's Diamond Vision was much larger than I anticipated. Thanks to everyone for their kind words and support. Here is a thread with some historic Diamond Vision pictures (some predate my time there) that were shared with me:
- As someone who, after 32 years, will be losing my job when the final out is made this coming Thursday in Oakland, I can't think of any better way to say this: si.com/mlb/athletics/…
- Gordie Howe has held the "most games played" title for 59 years, longer than anyone has in the respective histories of the NHL, MLB, NFL or NBA. #NHLStats
- *Doesn't watch NHL All-Star game. Sees Tomas Hertl has a natural hat trick, scores 5 total goals, including the deciding goal in the "Final" game. Learns the very talented David Pastrnak is the MVP. Remembers why he didn't watch in the first place.*
- On the occasions @jpav8 crossed paths with our broadcast group on the road, an unannounced and unexpected round of beverages would always arrive at our table. He would never make a show of it, but we always knew who had ordered and sent them.
- Everything we needed to know about how @jpav8 was perceived as a captain, teammate and person was confirmed in the @SanJoseSharks actions and response in the final 11 minutes + OT of Game 7 vs Vegas.
- #SJSharks Erik Karlsson is the 6th defenseman since 1988 with 9 assists in a playoff series, joining Mark Howe, Larry Murphy, Paul Coffey, Phil Housley and Kris Letang. The 9 assists in a series are a SJ record. #VGKvsSJS #StanleyCup
- All 4 of Couture's goals in the 2018 #StanleyCup Playoffs have been lead-changing: 3 have given the #SJSharks the lead, one has tied the game. Couture's 16 go-ahead goals during the regular season led the NHL, per @EliasSports
