    Albert Pujols flied out in the first inning at Yankee Stadium, bringing his career batting average to .29999. Pujols’s career batting average had not been below .300 at the end of any at-bat since he had a .286 mark (4-for-14) through his first four games in the majors.

    The Brooklyn Nets' eight two-point field goals on Thursday were the fewest by a team in a game since Nov. 22, 1950, when the Lakers and Pistons each made four FG in a game famous for its final score (19-18, Ft. Wayne). The 24-second shot clock debuted less than four years later.

    Something to chew on for Hall of Fame voters: Andruw Jones is one of six players in #MLB history with 10 Gold Gloves and 350+ HR. The other five were all voted into the BBHOF in their first year of eligibility: Mays, Schmidt, Griffey, Jr., Kaline, and Bench.

    Joey Votto was a combined 12-for-23 (.522) versus Roy Halladay, Mike Mussina and Mariano Rivera, who will all be inducted into the Hall of Fame today. That's the highest career batting average for any active player who faced all three of those pitchers.

    .@Nationals had a 21-year old hit a game-tying HR in the 9th inning (Robles) & a 20-year old hit a go-ahead HR in the 10th (Soto). It's the 1st time in @MLB modern era that a team had 2 different players under the age of 22 hit game-tying & go-ahead HRs in the 9th inning or later

    Don Shula head-coached against a man who was an NFL head coach in 1920, the league’s first season, and also against someone who is still an NFL head coach today. He was 5-4 head-to-head against George Halas, and 2-0 versus Bill Belichick.

    Rookie Jonathan India has 10 homers and an OPS of 1.021 since the All-Star break. No other rookie has more than 7 HR. The only @Reds' rookies to hit 10 HR and have a .900+ OPS after the break in a season are Adam Dunn in 2001 and Joey Votto in 2008. #ATOBTTR | #MLB

    Stephen Curry finished 2021 with 2,796 points, 499 rebounds and 523 assists. #DubNation The only other players to post 2,700+ points, 400+ rebounds, and 400+ assists in a calendar year are Michael Jordan (1987, 1988, and 1990) and James Harden (2019).
