JUST IN: US inflation jumped to 4.2% (y/y) in May —>the highest in 3 years and up from 2.4% in February before the war in Iran. Higher gas and energy prices drove 60% of the gain. Shelter and food (especially restaurants) also contributed. The monthly increase was 0.5%. Core
