27 countries can come together to agree something at incredibly short notice, one country can't even reach an agreement with itself over three years.

2hrs 15 King's Cross to Leeds. Has tables and wifi so he could work. But our lords and masters are too special and important to use low carbon options.

Death Valley was the single most beautiful and brutal place I've ever been fortunate enough to visit. I totally fell in love with it last year.
Death Valley is about to experience what could be the hottest week recorded anywhere on Earth. Here are the forecast highs for the next week: July 3: 124°F July 4: 125°F July 5: 127°F July 6: 129°F July 7: 131°F July 8: 131°F July 9: 133°F

Large areas of a local housing estate are fenced off while sewage bursts forth in multiple places across it, also contaminating a nature reserve and pouring into a local river. And @thameswater cancel the residents meeting. This is disgusting.

It might look a little silly, but by closing the windows and curtains and also hanging up sheets on the sunny side we are so far managing to keep the house 8 degrees cooler inside than out.

In 1666 the rector of Eyam decided it was too dangerous to hold church services inside and so he held services outside at Cucklet Delph while villagers socially distanced on the hillside to partake. It seems odd to me that they were wiser than our current government.

Is it OK if I boast that my daughter now has a First from Cambridge in Mathematics? #WomenInSTEM I am so, so proud of my wonderfully resilient and hardworking young lady. There needs to be a word for happy crying.

In brief, as it has been a long day of interviewing people, plotting damage and assessing the situation, with 14 miles of walking thrown in. @TorroUK can confirm that the damage in Wick & Littlehampton was caused by a tornado.

This week I gave a very tired bee in my hallway a little sugared water on a tea spoon. It flew off after a nice drink. An hour later another bee (or the same one?) turned up, then an hour later another. It seemed I'd turned into a bee bar for the evening.

Utterly surprised and thrilled to be given the Convective Weather Award for something that is a complete passion. But really, no work is undertaken in isolation including TORRO site investigations. Thank you to all my @TorroUK colleagues.
Congratulations to the winners of the inaugural TORRO awards Convective Weather Award - Sarah Horton Lifetime Achievement Award - Jon Webb, Mike Rowe The Annual Terence Meaden Award - Terence Meaden

Final rating to be awarded. Preliminary track length 2km, but ends not fully explored due to terrain and timing.
The tornado in Aldershot (confirmed by @TorroUK) caused damage at around 12:25pm today. Pictures from @Sarah_Hants
