Green Card and Visa holders shouldn't be on welfare. Illegal immigrants shouldn't be on welfare. Refugees shouldn't be on welfare. The only people in this country who should be receiving welfare are American citizens who NEED it.

Visa Loophole of the Week (#12,947): Amazon just laid off 30,000 — many on H-1Bs. Here’s the kicker: laid-off H-1B visa holders can switch to student (F-1) visas to stay another year or two. Maybe it’s time we fix a system that protects visas more than citizens.
