    @seaspiracy is using our website to claim that 6/7 sea turtle species are endangered due to fishing. That's not what our site says, it says fishing is one of a number of threats. Please take that link off the movie website and do some real fact checking.

    Thanks to the @NextEarth_ community, last month we funded a project in Mexico that will clean turtle nesting beaches, provided support for a green turtle nesting beach in Indonesia, & hiring a new staff person in Latin America to help grow our programs. Photo Eco Mayto.

    The movie also claims 250,000 turtles are caught in US fisheries each year. That study is almost 20 years old and no longer accurate. Just a couple of many things @Seaspiracy got wrong.

    The actual quote from @seashepherd in the movie claims that sea turtles are only endangered due to fishing, not things like climate change & plastic. Our website makes it clear that those are all factors, it is 100% not true that fishing is the only threat endangering turtles.
