Most important thing to know when starting your journey.
You don't need to learn anything besides writing a few words you think are important in [[these brackets]], and hitting tab. The rest is just folks getting excited and building on that foundation. Very easy gateway, and many very capable people never feel need to go beyond.

‘Magine that! We’ve been named to Enterprise Tech 30 for 2021 and they put our logo up in Times Square

Many of the custom themes that have been written by the #roamcult are prettier than our default design There. We said it. But most of our users don't know how to find these themes or set them up. SO - we're gonna make it WAY easier to use themes and support theme creators

Reminder that if you haven't read Sönke's book "How to Take Smart Notes" or learned about the Zettelkasten system, you really should. One of the best books on learning, and how to enhance creativity, productivity - and remove writer's block we've come across. & he uses Roam!
Just to let you know: I finally decided to switch to @RoamResearch Will certainly write soon something about experiences, adaptation, and why (well, mostly because it's fun). Thanks, @Conaw for being insistent, @nateliason, @ShuOmi3, and @JoelChan86 for the intros.

Like if you want @Conaw to make a video showing how to use Spaced Repetition to memorize poems or speeches.
    Replying to @Conaw
"On Work" is pretty close to a sacred text for me. To the point that I once put each line in an Anki Deck to try and commit to memory... I did not have an Anki routine ahead of time though and forgot I was trying to memorize it before I succeeded, may try again w Roam SRS now.

Quality of Life Improvement: You can now use Control-J and Control-K in the search bar (command-u on mac) AND you can select the specific block in your search result and navigate directly to it -- before you would only jump to the correct page

Encrypted notes now live on Roam Can have different passphrases for different blocks - can use your browsers password manager to keep track of passphrases for particular hints / sets of blocks. type {{encrypt}} to use Unencrypted string + passphrase never touches our servers

You have no idea what's coming
Playing with some of the no-code programmable features of @RoamResearch (pomodoro timer, kanban boards etc) strikes me that a) this has potential to be the first real no-code environment since Excel and b) it's a way to do Wolfram-style computational essays without Mathematica

We are excited to announce the first beta release of our redesigned mobile app. Our focus has been on ensuring quick access, eliminating "graph is too large" errors, and giving the app a more native feel. We're rolling out to believers first to stress test the system.

Calling shots 1. Personal Knowledge Management (Apple Notes, Google Docs, Evernote, Notion, text files) 2. Collective Knowledge Management (Twitter, Wikipedia) 3. All the academia (Peer Review, the Ivy League, K-12 Compulsory Education)
I love when people call their shots. Walt Disney's original business plan from 1958 is my favorite example. TV ✔️ Music ✔️ Films ✔️ Reissues ✔️ Publications ✔️ Merchandise ✔️ Comics ✔️ Theme parks ✔️

Servers spiked with high load. Have been working on scaling them. If you get spinning astrolabe, treat it as meditation -- will load and work fine within 10 minutes.
