Like many others, I have become increasingly disenchanted with this platform. New Year's resolution: following many of my colleagues, I am moving our lab account over to Bluesky. Find us and follow us at @reisesousalab.bsky.social.
This is a blatant misrepresentation of our work science.org/doi/10.1126/sc…. Our study does not in any way suggest that the application of SPF50 sunscreen “blocks our natural defences” or is detrimental to health.
Vitamin D regulates cancer immunity via microbiome- another reason to stop using SPF 50 all year round which blocks our natural defences science.org/doi/10.1126/sc…
Readers added context
The linked study is a pre-clinical study based on mice alone. The suggestion that this means humans can reduce SPF use is not evidence-based, and should be read with caution.

Nice start to the year by arriving in my office to find a package containing a medal from @EFIS_Immunology to commemorate the virtual lecture I gave #sfi2021 joint session @sfiimmunologie@britsocimm in December. Thanks!
