After 5.5 years of learning & evolving, Rainmatter Foundation is entering a new phase.
What began with a few focus areas has grown into ecosystem weaving across urban, rural, climate, data & more - always with place at the center.
We are thrilled to announce The Climate Conversations, wherein @Nithin0dha, Kailash & @zenx talk to @HansiMehrotra about the big, small and befuddling questions about the foundation of the Rainmatter Foundation! Stay tuned - the first of the 6-part series is coming soon!
Thanks, @divyajshekhar for covering @RainmatterOrg.
The foundation started with the question of what's the point of all this success if we don't have a planet to live on?
We would love to see a 100 micro forests take shape. Planted diverse, with a rich forest floor and the web of life underneath creating rich soil. Do share pics with us as this happens!
Plastic is one of the biggest contributors to greenhouse emissions—it consumes ~10% of all oil produced. 95% of all plastic is single-use and less than 12% is recycled. The rest is burnt or ends up in landfills. This is a problem.
Climate change is an existential crisis for mankind and it’s sad that it gets the most attention on #WorldEnvironmentDay. We believe it’s our collective responsibility to use our resources for the good. (1/12)
Happy #WorldWaterDay#AMillionWells For #Bengaluru Pledge!
Today, let's promise to make this happen and commit to at least a few recharge wells to be dug in our communities, offices, campuses.
Please share this as your pledge & RT!

On World Environment Day, let's pledge to protect our planet.
Atmospheric CO2 has never been higher. We are losing forest cover and animal species. This is why at @Rainmatterorg we have partnered with amazing teams working on these challenges - rainmatter.org (1/n)
There's an urgent need to shore up the supply of #Oxygen concentrators.
@zerodha's teamed up with @actgrants to kick start this, with a million dollars each, but it needs a lot more support. Please pitch in and RT widely.

RO systems reject 30-50% of freshwater while purifying. They reject 5-8 litres of water for every litre of fresh water.
All this water usually goes down the drain.
The Rainmatter Foundation is past the two-year mark. When we started out, we had full pockets, a lot of goodwill, some very generous volunteers, a CEO and a fuzzy map for multiple directions. We were in the spotlight. But where does the ‘doing’ really begin? 1/2
Shipping and logistics is a huge part of the emissions puzzle globally. @matchlog_india reduces inefficiencies and the footprint inherent in these operations today. More visibility into this data brings huge possibilities wrt further optimizations. Delighted to be onboard!
