    As a ctte member before the election I can confirm that the new ctte does not have to be formed to publish the report-anything else is complete twaddle-indeed there are few members from the old ctte left in parliament-it just needs the pm to say publish & it will be done so do it

    So personal news tonight - I’ve been asked by the PM to go to work in the home office as minister of state from the House of Lords There are immense challenges but Im looking forward to being of service to the country and labour govt in that role & supporting @YvetteCooperMP

    I say welcome 👇- look I’ve been a Labour Party member for 45 years , but if johns political journey has brought him now to see the Labour Party as the way to social justice ,then that’s a good thing that should be welcomed whatever his political history.

    Youngest child on trip to liverpool just been fined £20 by @merseyrail despite having a valid ticket paid for on @trainline just because it’s on phone & ticket has not been printed off -what kind of service is this? Nothing on train line website-how not to encourage train use

    I’ve shadowed David Gauke,had him challenge me when I was a minister,scrutinised him in ctte in his role as justice secretary-he is & has been a loyal conservative-one vote on a matter of principle & purged -says more about current pm than it ever does about @davidgauke

    Just received a text to say that my Association Chairman has been told that I am no longer a member of the Conservative Party. First I’d heard of that. Not even a member of the Conservative Party? I finally have something in common with Dominic Cummings.
