- Don’t you have anything better to do with your time, @SecDuffy? Something like, I don’t know, addressing the air traffic controller crisis? You don’t know the first thing about our borough, our bridges or the safety of our people. Stay in your lane, literally.New York’s war on the working class continues. NYC’s mayor just removed a vehicle lane on the Queensboro Bridge. These decisions only further squeeze hard-working Americans who have to drive to work. I thought they cared about congestion? It’s a lie. This is exactly why
- #Queens is sick of this surge in hate crimes targeting our Asian American neighbors, but Queens is so grateful to have @RepGraceMeng leading the charge in DC to combat hate. We agree with @SenSchumer — the Senate must pass the COVID-19 Hate Crimes Act IMMEDIATELY. #StopAsianHate
- As the Delta variant spreads and our youngest students are still ineligible to be vaccinated, there's a real cause for concern in a borough with schools as overcrowded as ours. As I wrote to @DOEChancellor, there should be a remote learning option for our public school students.
- #Queens was the epicenter of the epicenter at the beginning of this pandemic. We can’t be shortchanged & need the resources to combat #COVID19 just like the rest of the city. We urge @NYGovCuomo @NYCMayor to open @CitiField as a vaccination site NOW. Full letter: 1/
- For years, Asian Americans have experienced a surge in bias and violence against their community, and I will not tolerate a community board member using language that has fueled that wave of bigotry. I have removed this individual from CB 5 for cause. queensledger.com/cb5-member-boo…
- A beloved son of Queens, Tony Bennett was an international icon due to his incredible performances as well for his charitable efforts that included founding the Frank Sinatra School of the Arts H.S. in his native Astoria. The World's Borough deeply mourns the loss of this legend.
- APPROVED: The Queens Bus Network Redesign! Today's official @MTA vote is a watershed moment for Queens and for the 800,000 of us in this borough who ride our buses to get to work, school and beyond every single day. Get ready for a faster and more efficient commute! (1/3)Replying to @HenryRosoff @MTA and 2 othersBREAKING: "Queens has a new bus network!"
- Jaw-dropping. That's the only way to describe @QPLNYC' gorgeous, soon-to-be-open Far Rockaway library. This $33 million investment in our families is a highlight of my career. I couldn’t be prouder to have helped deliver a state-of-the-art site to a community that deserves it.
00:00 - Now is not the time to recycle empty rhetoric about real estate. Now is the time to negotiate solutions that bring about consequential change to #Astoria. I’m proud to be delivering just that with @innovationqns. Read more in my @NYDailyNews op-Ed ⬇️ nydailynews.com/opinion/ny-ope…
00:00- Corona Plaza wasn’t named one of the 100 best places to eat in NYC by the @nytimes by accident. It’s because of the hard-working, mainly immigrant street vendors who serve slices of the world there. What happened there last week was disgusting — so we’re standing up. (1/3)Corona Plaza is a cultural & economic hub. Local street vendors have been collaborating w/ city agencies to add trash receptacles, set rules, distribute community resources & host cultural events But this Thursday, DSNY Police were armed & deployed to remove them 👇👇
