🔎 Analysing why Argentina are my World Cup favourites:

Burnley gave Dyche £21m (net) to spend since the start of the summer 2017 transfer window. Investment in the squad was chronically low,yet he kept them in the PL for 6 seasons & even qualified for Europa League. His miraculous overachievement will go down in the PL history books.

If he’s unlocked the Robben-style cut inside and shoot on a regular basis then oh my…

Sadio Mané developed at Southampton as a 2nd striker with Graziano Pellè.He took LFC into the top 4 as a right winger. Salah arrived so he won the Premier League & Champions League as a left winger. He’s now spearheading their quadruple charge as a false 9. Premier League legend.

Two-way dribblers who don’t rely on raw pace. They are making the sport a joy to watch.

Sadio Mané: “Why would I want 10 Ferraris,20 watches or 2 planes? I survived hard times, played football bare-footed,did not have an education. But today I can help my people- build schools, stadiums and buy clothes & food. I prefer my people receive some of what life has given me”

Forecasting the system that won Pep his treble 5 months before he implemented it on a full-time basis, with Akanji’s passing key for the Champions League winning goal. That’s the peak. It might be time for retirement from this app.
Manuel Akanji in at Man City? Not the cleanest defender but his passing range is top. Maybe Pep really is looking at using the 3-2-2-3 (3-box midfield-3) he used in the 2nd half vs Palace regularly. That system has a high burden on the CBs being top class at constructing build-up.

Messi should focus on dragging the aggressive Gvardiol out of his LCB position with intelligent movements into deeper positions. RDP/Álvarez should then see that as a trigger to make late runs into the space left in those inside right positions.

This guy. Forced one of the best dribblers in the game (Kingsley Coman) to change flanks because of how good his 1v1 defending is.

Gvardiol has been one of the best defenders in this tournament & Lionel Messi has just made him look like an amateur with some of the best close-control dribbling that you will ever see.

    Replying to @AndreyOnana
Have some respect for the 2 time Premier League champion and one of the best defensive midfielders in the world at his peak. You are statistically one of the worst Man Utd keepers ever as he said, know your place.

Hurting a defender as good as Jules Koundé at 35 years old with pure close-control dribbling & mastery of the football, whilst playing on his unfavoured flank in the biggest match in football. This context means it should go down as one of the best individual performances ever.

Dani Olmo, that’s an all-time classic major tournament performance. Take a bow.

Brighton found a hard-working, creative winger with excellent 1v1 ability from the J.League for £3 million. Fair enough, their scouting team are on a different level.
