Let me complete that quote for you, again: “I may very well have," Meijer said nonchalantly. "But it's important we have elected leaders who are not thinking solely about what's in their self-interest, not what is politically expedient, but what we actually need for the country.”
Are you concerned you ended your career with that vote?" George Stephanopoulos asked. "I may very well have," Meijer said nonchalantly. “Freshman Congressman Peter Meijer Believes He May Have Committed 'Political Suicide' by Beth Baumann” townhall.com/tipsheet/bethb…

I still can’t wrap my head around the fact that the President of the United States was completely MIA while the next three individuals in the line of succession (VP, Speaker of House, Senate Pres Pro Tempore) were under assault in the Capitol. Unconscionable.

President Trump betrayed his oath of office by seeking to undermine our constitutional process, and he bears responsibility for inciting the insurrection we suffered last week. With a heavy heart, I will vote to impeach President Donald J. Trump.

Tonight @RepLizCheney faced four hours of blistering criticism and didn’t yield an inch. We may not always agree on policy but I respect the hell out of leaders like Liz who are unyielding in defense of their convictions.

We can’t paper over the assault on the Capitol with empty calls for ‘unity.’ Unless my party faces the truth of what happened and holds those responsible to account, we will never regain the public’s trust and earn the honor of leading the nation forward.

I’m awestruck by the brilliance of Israel’s beeper bombs. Hezbollah is in utter panic and can’t respond because thousands of mid/senior leaders are wounded and their ability to communicate has been literally incinerated. All with minimal civilian casualties. (1/2)

Nothing screams ‘future’ like a 74 year old leading a chant next to an 86 year old while a 77 year old vigorously shakes his cane in support.
Schumer leads a chant of "We will win! We will win! We won't rest! We won't rest!"

A responsible headline would read: 99.93% of fully vaccinated Americans have not tested positive. The COVID vaccine works.
Breakthrough Covid cases: At least 125,000 fully vaccinated Americans have tested positive cnb.cx/2Wv0nJM
    Readers added context
This article itself provides the context that this tweet lacks: this number of people experiencing a breakthrough infection is a tiny fraction of the vaccinated; the vaccine protected 99.93% of those vaccinated from getting infected. t.co/BidajDV9nL

This may be a controversial take, but maybe the better option is to make government less incompetent so folks aren’t waiting in line for either?
If you can wait in line for a covid test, you can wait in line to vote.

What is most disturbing here is the woman in the back nodding along sensibly when the speaker says people are becoming MAGNETIZED by their vaccines

Let me complete that quote for you: "It may have been an act of political suicide, but it's what I felt was necessary for the good of the country, to have accountability in this moment but also to set a path to moving forward," Meijer told the Free Press on Thursday.

I will never cease to be amazed, aggravated, and infuriated by the dismissal, deflection, and minimization of what occurred on January 6th.
While graphic and violent, most Republicans have already found ways to dismiss or deflect the Jan. 6 invasion as Antifa, actors in a hoax, or maybe a tiny band of misguided, overzealous Trump supporters. And virtually none of them willing to connect any of this to President Trump

    Replying to @PeterMeijer
Now that their “secure” beepers are blown they are forced to make a tradeoff between inaction and exposing themselves via more easily-traceable comms. All while feeling profoundly wounded and shaken by the fear of what else Israel has up its sleeve. Just bloody brilliant. (2/2)
