Today, The Bahamas announced the discovery of the largest seagrass bed on the planet. The nearly 93,000 square kilometer meadow was mapped with the help of sharks wearing 360-degree cameras– an ingenious and fitting tactic for the shark-iest place in the Atlantic.

Hard to believe that I am coming to Twitter this late in the game. I have always shared my photos via Instagram but now I am here to hear your thoughts and learn.

I watched this bear from my kayak while hiding behind a chunk of sea ice for a long time and he never realized that I was there. These are often my favourite encounters. My goal is always to be invisible to wildlife, and not interfere while they do wild and natural things.

I can tell you from personal experience that moments like this can change your life. When an animal lets you into its world, something inside you changes. Not only do you feel deep humility and gratitude, but you also become incredibly connected to that animal & ecosystem.

Anytime I see polar bears in the wild, they have shown me something amazing. Whether it is a brilliant display of their intelligence or power or a playfulness - like this one who surprised me by falling asleep clutching a piece of ice - bears are individuals & real characters.

For decades, I've been photographing the wild spaces and species of Antarctica. Now, I'm excited to share my latest work exploring the rapidly changing environment of the Antarctic Peninsula in @NatGeo magazine’s November issue, available this week.

What a fun week. Not only did my image make it into the cover of Pearl Jam’s new album, Gigaton but Eddie Vedder sent me an autographed surf board with my narwhal image fibreglassed into it. This one is going on my…

And just like that, I found myself in a staring contest with a six-pound, adult arctic fox. It is in moments like this that I hold my breath – for a couple of reasons: I don’t want to frost up my camera’s viewfinder, and I want the experience to last forever. #ArcticFox #Manitoba

I hope this picture will remind us that we live under one sky on one planet as one people. Many battles are being waged—war, climate change, biodiversity, species loss, war on nature and wildlife, poverty, hunger—but we cannot give up. #IStandWithUkraine #AuroraBorealis #Norway

I give thanks for nature everyday. My greatest moments, memories and stories have come from nature. She is perfect and we must try and keep her that way. Gratitude!!

As the #whale song of a distant male reverberated through my body, I discovered this devoted mother #humpback basking in the warm waters off the coast of Tonga. Today, I shared a little more on my other channels about the day I captured 'Megaptera.' bit.ly/TW_Megaptera
A mother humpback whale and her calf swimming in the waters of Tonga.

A very curious blue-eyed shag chick checks out its reflection in my camera dome. The best thing about Antarctica is that wildlife has no fear and is mostly overcome by curiosity. It really is a photographer’s dream.
