The Office of the Public Guardian is supporting Power of Attorney Day today. Without a power of attorney, your loved ones or friends have no automatic legal right to make decisions or act for you in financial or welfare matters if you are no longer capable of doing so yourself.

We are aware of recent news articles warning against abbreviating the date 2020 as it can be altered easily. E.g. if the date is written as “06/01/20” it can be altered to look like “06/01/2019” or even “06/01/2025.” To protect yourself write the date in full i.e. 2020

We were delighted to welcome visitors from OPG Singapore and their assoc. community welfare groups today. It was a fantastic opportunity to share best practice on an international basis.
