The Office of the Public Guardian is supporting Power of Attorney Day today. Without a power of attorney, your loved ones or friends have no automatic legal right to make decisions or act for you in financial or welfare matters if you are no longer capable of doing so yourself.

- We are aware of recent news articles warning against abbreviating the date 2020 as it can be altered easily. E.g. if the date is written as “06/01/20” it can be altered to look like “06/01/2019” or even “06/01/2025.” To protect yourself write the date in full i.e. 2020
- The Public Guardian and her team would like to thank Adrian Ward and the rest of the organising committee #wcac2022 for bringing the 7th World Congress on Adult Capacity to Scotland. A hugely prestigious event, and an opportunity to learn from colleagues from over 30 countries.
