Canโ€™t stop thinking about my old robot vacuum that did this to itself every morning

I am a connoisseur of weird robot vacuum issues, because they all seem to get at least one thing slightly wrong, but this might be my favorite. I discover this happened almost every morning.
A Shark robot vacuum frozen in place with the power off.
A door stop, perfectly positioned to have flipped the power switch off.

I may never fully get over the โ€œvolume knobโ€ on Ford electric car entertainment systems, which is just a fake โ€œfingerโ€ running on a set of bearings they epoxy directly onto the big display.

Thereโ€™s a lot to pick on here but โ€œnubileโ€ really stands out as head and shoulders above everything

I also think that if you are obsessed with how no women like you and believe this is symptomatic of some kind of โ€œdestruction of cultureโ€ thatโ€™s such an all consuming belief you donโ€™t have time/energy to thrive in other ways.

A personal favorite: "Xcode now pins elements of your code structure to the top of the editor as you scroll through a document. To toggle this behavior, use 'Show: Code structure while scrolling' in Xcodeโ€™s Text Editing preferences." This particularly helps with large files.

โ€œA reporter canโ€™t just walk up to a politician and ask a question like that!โ€ Why the fuck not? Itโ€™s their job to answer tough questions from the people theyโ€™re supposed to serve.

I love text/code editors. The first Mac app I ever wrote (with the very dev tools you see here!) was a text editor, and I've always wanted to work on one as a "grown-up." Well, at the end of August, I'll get to do that โ€” I'll be starting work at Apple on the Xcode Source Editor.

UX tip: When this happens, you have to solve it, even if you donโ€™t feel like itโ€™s your fault.

If I were them, I would have just said, โ€œwhat you do is your business, we canโ€™t enforce anything, but this is really about getting yourself in the habit of personal expression, and you will not get anything out of it if you arenโ€™t the one expressing yourself.โ€

If itโ€™s about losing access, letโ€™s make it public. Letโ€™s show the world these people are so petty theyโ€™ll cut the news off for asking a question they donโ€™t like.

I guess they must have used the same web service for whatever the last Netflix app working on iOS 5 was and the DVD version of Netflix for Wii? I donโ€™t imagine very many people get to experience this error. Kinda neat.
