To summarize: the Red Hen owner was worried that her staff (who were LGBTQ, migrants, etc) would feel uncomfortable in serving Sanders. She gave them the option, & they said they wanted Sanders to leave. She spoke to her privately and asked her to go. That is brave and exemplary.

one of my more striking memories from visiting Florence + Siena last year is being in the most gorgeous places i’d ever seen, and talking to young locals who’d say stuff like “you’re from the US? i’m so jealous. i’d do anything to get out of here.”
