- Thank you @IMBA_Vienna and @viennabiocenter. What a great place for science and biomedical research!Human #blastoids, a new #breakthrough from the Rivron lab at IMBA @NRivron, faithfully form a reliable #embryomodel in vitro. The findings allow to better understand blastocyst #development and #implantation. More ➡️ bit.ly/Blastoids_Rivr… #IVF #infertility @Nature (1/3)
00:00 - Scientists in stem cells and embryos have a new home! @AlexGouldLab and I will assist @WickstromLab in being an editor at the open-access @aaas journal @ScienceAdvances. Editors are working scientists. Send us your papers. We will carefully look at them. tinyurl.com/yuy37nk5
- Derk ten Berge's lab derived a new type of stem cells ‘Rosette Stem Cells’ as an intermediate between naive and primed pluripotency. Many interesting questions about the discrete/continuous nature of development. nature.com/articles/s4155… Great collaboration. Thxs Derk. #stemcells
- Thank you so much for the kind words. Thanks to the #ERC, to the 10 reviewers, and to the jury. Feels like a community "welcome" to the #blastoids. #embryomodels #innumberswetrustCongratulations to IMBA group leader Nicolas Rivron @NRivron on his @ERC_Research Consolidator Grant! This marks IMBA's 18th #ERC grant. His grant will support the modeling of early development (blastocyst) solely from stem cells. #blastoids #ERCCoG More➡️bit.ly/3749vIt
- Sometimes special things happen! In July our lab moves to amazing @IMBA_Vienna @viennabiocenter, that so strongly supports the passion for sciences and discoveries. Thank you to all the colleagues who have contributed to this step and expressed great enthusiasm. Beautiful #Vienna
- Hi all. The SY-STEM conference @IMBA_Vienna @IMPvienna invites the next generation of stem cells scientists (talks by First authors and Young PIs) strengthened by keynotes by amazing Kathrin Plath and James Briscoe. Top and creative science 🤯. Join us in person in Vienna!#SYStem2022 is coming up! Registration for the 2022 SY-Stem symposium on stem cell biology is open! Organized by Elly Tanaka @IMPvienna, Christa Buecker @MaxPerutzLabs, Noelia Urbán, Jürgen Knoblich, Nicolas Rivron and myself @IMBA_Vienna. sy-stem.org @viennabiocenter
- Mechanistic work showing that, during early human embryogenesis, both extraembryonic tissues, the trophectoderm (via IL6) and hypoblast (via laminin deposition, among others), guide the development of the epiblast. Congratulations Takumi and all the @Takashima_Lab !We are very pleased to share our new work for pre-implantation human hypoblast. Congratulations to Takumi. Thank you for all of co-authors and my friends!! @NRivron Please go to nature.com/articles/s4158… rdcu.be/dsOom
- Late night science with buddies. Kinda best thing ever. With Laurent David, @RuggGunnLab & @vincentpasque
- Complex human cardiac chambers formed via the self-organization of hESCs, by @MendjanLab. Beyond the achievement, it suggests that a dosage of WNT and timing of VEGF signaling coordinate the co-specification of CM and EC lineages, which impact cavity morphogenesis and patterning.#cardioids – the first self-organizing human cardiac #organoids developed at IMBA by the @MendjanLab! Cardioids recapitulate heart chamber self-organization and defects bearing huge potential for drug discovery & regenerative medicine. Read more: tinyurl.com/cardioids
00:00 - Interesting perspective from Janet Rossant on the human post-implantation embryo model formed by Zongyong Ai and colleagues, and in comparaison with the growing list of complementary models.
- Congratulation to @harunobu_kagawa, @alok_javali, @HK_Heidar, @TheresaMSommer, @sestinigiovanni, and all the team. It has been a great scientifically, and on the human side as well.Extremely excited to share our recently published paper in @Nature where we report formation of a faithful in vitro model of human blastocyst. @NRivron lab @IMBA_Vienna A long tweetorial alert! - Happy to share our updated manuscript “Chemically-defined induction of a primitive endoderm and epiblast-like niche supports post-implantation progression from blastoids” biorxiv.org/content/10.110… from Erik Vrij, Yvonne Scholte op Reimer, Javier Frias Aldeguer and Isabel Misteli!
